Trickster runs for 50 minutes, Scambuster
for 55 minutes.
In a day we can perform twice, the same show
twice or one of each. We can even perform at two venues but you need to be
aware of the set up time and set down time – for both shows we need 30 minutes
to set up and to set down. With two venues you will need to consider transit
time between venues.
The most popular times for performances
are 10.00am and 2.00pm (& sometimes 7.30pm).
Select a venue that is suitable for your audience, easy to access by foot or bus or car. Somewhere known to them is good and somewhere they are visiting anyway is ideal. For example;
We have performed in all spaces from theatres to day care centres and can cope with anything. If there are stages, lights and sound system we’ll use them but we don’t need them.
Be sure to offer refreshments – tea and cake at least, lunch even. Use our leaflets with your name, dates and venues added. Stress the “fun” element of the day not that it is educational. It is best to invite people in person and get them to commit to coming. You need to know numbers for seating and catering. Many areas put on buses for some groups. Select a venue that already has a group meeting there and add Trickster to their program (a captive audience)! For example;
Generally we’d say no but some have and it works well if you have an answer phone for out of office calls and some staff to follow the messages up. People like to know that they have a seat waiting for them especially if they are a little frail or unsteady on their feet.
These are great groups for helping to build a crowd and even for setting out tea and cakes and maybe having a display stand as well. Some have been known to pay for an event;
